He reminisces about: farming and vegetables grown, diet, making cheese, education, vegetation present before the clearing for agriculture lands, how jacales were made, people and homes being taken away with river flooding, Rio Grande river flooding, Carrizitos, crossing the Rio Grande on boats, smuggling, and incest.
