This collection consists of one Civil War era broadside regarding cotton smuggling through the Rio Grande Valley including Eagle Pass, Laredo, Rio Grande City, and Edinburg written by Confederate Brigadier General James Edwin Slaughter.
The collection contains material related to Beard’s work as an organ designer. Almost the entire collection consists of organ blueprints, although there are some photos and a brochure about the M.P. Moller Company. Beard designed organs for many notable places including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, West Point, and the Moody Bible Institute. Most of his work was done in mid-west states like Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
