Photographic (Slide) Images, 1964–1974
Scope and Contents
Series of 35 mm color photographic slides of Dearl Adam's and Project Ridley. Images show Kemp's ridley sea turtles at various stages of their life cycle, including nesting, eggs, hatchlings, adolescent and adult turtles. Photographs also document Dearl Adams and his families trips to Playa Rancho Nuevo, Mexico to obtain eggs and their subsequent return and sea turtle releases on South Padre Island, Texas. The Turtle Lady, Ila Loetscher, is photographed.
The original handwritten slide descriptions are also included.
