Scope and Contents

A majority of the material is about after his death and some about his genealogy. Includes photocopies of memorials and letters of condolence from the First State Bank & Trust Company of Mission, Texas, Congressman John N. Garner, and the Mission Council #2698 of the Knights of Columbus. Photocopy of newspaper articles regarding his death from falling from his fifth floor hotel room window in San Antonio, and the possibility of foul play. Photocopies of legal documents pertaining land and vital records.

The collection is open for research use. May 2014: items found while processing miscellaneous box. Materials found nearby included the Texas Citrus Fruit Growers Exchange draft of 1924-1925 annual report, TexaSweet Texas Citrus Fruit Growers Exchange letterhead, and Texas Citrus Fruit Growers Exchange "Carrying on" cards. Possible business connection (same people where Cavazos served as vice president of First State Bank & Trust Company, Mission also in Texas Fruit Growers Exchange. Processed as a separate collection.
