Biographical / Historical
Margaret Snavely was born June 27, 1908 in Ellis County, Texas, and died December 28, 1999 in Denton, Denton County, Texas. Margaret was the daughter of John Lilburn Hughes and Alma Minnie Harde. Malcolm Snavely was born March 10, 1904 in Lamont, Grant County, Oklahoma, and died January 4, 1984 in Harlingen, Cameron County, Texas. Malcolm was the son of Guy M. Snavely and Charlotte Ferris Snavely (married April 1, 1932 in Raymondville, Texas). Guy Snavely was the brother of Levi E. Snavely, owner of the Snavely Packing Plant on Wilson Road in Harlingen. Levi was also the district manager for the American Fruit Growers Inc. Note written by Margaret Snavely Jones.
