American Indians Stereoscope Cards, I1 –I100

 Series — Box: 3

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Keystone View Company Stereographic Library collection contains 350 stereoscope cards, or stereographs, of historical people, places, and topics. The collection is comprised of four different series, including American History, Cowboys, American Indians and Mexico.

Stereographs consist of two nearly identical photographs or photomechanical prints, paired to produce the illusion of a single three-dimensional image, usually when viewed through a stereoscope. The stereographs in this collection are on card mounts. Each card is published with information printed under the image and often more information is printed on the back of the mount. The front of the card mount also includes information about the publisher (Keystone View Company) as well as the series and card number.
