Fifteen boxes. 1922-1942 [Bulk 1932-1935] Contains correspondence, memorandums, notes, minutes of meetings, pamphlets, booklets, travel and expense reports, etc. Files relating to the Public Works Administration (PWA) are in Boxes 1-2. Hidalgo County Advisory Board files are in Boxes 3-4. John H. Shary's Plan for Social Stabilization - Box 5. Miscellaneous committees, such as the Progressive Texans, Inc., Committee for the Nation, Valley Rehabilitation Committee, are in Box 6. Clubs, Fairs, Chambers of Commerce, hunting clubs, country clubs, etc. are in Boxes 7-8. Valley irrigation legislation, state and federal clubs and committees, U.S. Agricultural Committee, Reconstruction Finance Corporation, etc. are in Boxes 9-10. Miscellaneous political files (state and national) are in Boxes 11-12. Newspaper clippings and articles, trips, celebrations (opening of Brownsville and Corpus Christi Ports), conventions etc. are in Box 13. Correspondence and other information regarding the creation of the Sharyland Independent School District are in Boxes 14-15.
