Stegman, Baldwin G., 1868-1917
Baldwin G. Stegman's (1868-1917) was born in Germany and immigrated to US in 1882. He later married May Lott (1880-1937; subsequently Mrs. S. L. Turner) . Stegman arrived in Brownsville around 1905 and was one of the investors in the private franchise that developed Brownsville’s first public street car line.

Content Description The collection consists of the final documentation of the Historic Stegman Building located in downtown Brownsville. The collection contains exterior and interior photographs prior to the renovation as well as historical Robert Runyon photographs of the building. In addition, the collection contains a Historic American Buildings Survey compiled by Historian Roman McAllen, Brownsville Historic Resources survey, and .dwg architectural and measurement files of the renovated floorplan....
