Leo J. Leo was born in 1917 in Mission, Texas. He and his twin brother, Alexander J. Leo, moved to Tabasco, Texas (La Joya) with their parents in 1917.

Series of interviews conducted between October and November 1980 by Hubert J. Miller. Digital transfer completed on 20 December 2013 - 7 January 2014 from the original analog cassette tape.

Abstract

Leo J. Leo (1917-1981) was a long-time power in Democratic Party politics in Hidalgo County. He was elected mayor of La Joya in 1965 and served for 14 consecutive years before retiring in 1979. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence, official business documents from offices held, voting poll lists, and newsclips.
